Title: Big Data Engineer
Location: Hybrid(1 day onsite 4 days remote in Rockville, MD)
Term: Long Term Contract to hire

Available for W2 or 1099, No C2C

Job Description:

Our client is looking for a rock star Big Data Engineer to support an internal business stakeholder with their big data capabilities, being responsible for supporting technical initiatives in data engineering, data analytics and software integration. The candidate must come from a true big data environment run on the AWS Cloud. Python coding and SQL querying skills must be top-notch since this position is very technical. Our client is looking for a junior-mid data engineer, so the ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience.

Required:

  1. BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics and/or EE
  2. Expertise in Python Coding
  3. Expertise in structuring complex, advanced queries in SQL
  4. Test-driven development
  5. Building unit tests
  6. Must have Experience with Big Data Technologies

Nice to have:

  1. Spark experience
  2. Data Architecture Experience
  3. AWS expertise with services related to big data S3, EC2, EMR
  4. Previous big data engineering experience
