Data Modeler
Tallahassee, FL, onsite. 
1 year contract, potential for two 1 year extensions

We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler to support IT projects focused on analyzing, profiling, and improving the quality of legacy and current criminal justice data systems. This role will work closely with project teams to prepare data for migration, maintain and enhance data modeling artifacts, and ensure data integrity for mission-critical information systems. The Data Modeler will leverage Informatica Data Quality tools and industry best practices to evaluate, cleanse, and document data while providing ongoing support for database planning and architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze use of data across multiple platforms and maintain Informatica Data Quality software and supporting infrastructure.
• Administer access for project teams to data analysis and cleansing environments.
• Maintain, develop, and execute data profiling, cleansing strategies, and update data source repositories.
• Document and update data cleansing inventory and business rules based on profiling results.
• Analyze data requirements, processing architectures, data dictionaries, and schemas.
• Maintain and enhance logical and physical data models (using tools such as Erwin or Visio).
• Act as the primary contact for database planning matters for project teams.
• Provide consultation to vendor teams on data conversion/migration planning.
• Create and maintain documentation and provide feedback on project deliverables.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve data quality objectives.

Deliverables:

• Data profiling strategy and data quality evaluation plan.
• Comprehensive inventory of all data sources.
• Logical and physical data models of all relevant data and interfaces.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Data Analysis, Profiling, and Quality Assessment with Informatica Data Quality software.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Informatica Data Quality on Unix or Linux.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Administration (analysis, profiling, quality assessment, cleansing) with any tool.
• Minimum 5 years working with Unix/Linux OS and performing shell scripting (bash or ksh).
• Minimum 5 years performing Data Design and Modeling (Erwin, Visio, Oracle Designer, etc.).
• Proficiency in software engineering methods for design, evaluation, and integration of IT solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; experience functioning as a technical consultant or researcher.
• Problem-solving skills in analysis, troubleshooting, and resolving defects.
• Experience working under minimal supervision and engaging in service/product/technology solution evaluation, data development, and technical communications.

Preferred Experience:

• 8 years with Oracle RDBMS (11g or newer).
• 8 years developing SQL, PL/SQL scripts, procedures, functions, and packages.
• 5 years planning and executing data conversion/migration plans and programs.
• Experience facilitating analysis sessions and presenting technical topics to business clients.
• Experience designing and executing quality control and test procedures.
